Mama Roux's, Birmingham
Born in 1993, Tim was raised in Crewe, but it’s Manchester that has influenced him the most, immersing himself in the culture from an early age and moving there to work for a homeless charity. He started busking in the city centre, playing old classic soul tunes that he was raised on alongside covers of current hits. Honing his craft in public, Tim progressed to regular open mic nights, notably at The Whiskey Jar in the Northern Quarter, where he found his spiritual home, on stage, in front of an adoring audience.
When the pandemic struck and everything stopped, Tim turned to social media, specifically tiktok and Instagram. He soon realised the untapped potential of playing to people from his home. Performing regular sessions on the platforms he won round a brand new army of fans, but this time they stretched across the Atlantic and to Europe. Tim quickly amassed an impressive social following and it was this activity that caught the eye of Relentless Records (Mackenzy Mackay, Headie One, Tom Walker) who signed him in 2022.
