LCD Soundsystem are set to make their highly anticipated return to the UK this summer with a huge eight-night residency at London’s iconic O2 Academy Brixton. The run of shows will take place from Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th June and Thursday 19th – Sunday 22nd June 2025.
Renowned for their electrifying live performances, the band played major UK festivals last year with a triumphant set at Glastonbury, as well as a powerful headline set at All Points East. Receiving rave reviews, critics praised their stand-out Glastonbury performance with Mojo Magazine stating, “James Murphy’s emotional disco transforms the Pyramid Stage” and The Times 5* feature added, “In the first truly great show of Glastonbury 2024, LCD Soundsystem provided the perfect wistful soundtrack for Friday’s golden hour.” In 2022 LCD Soundsystem completed a sold-out six-night residency at O2 Academy Brixton which was celebrated by The Telegraph as “A shuddering evening of electro-rock.” Heading back to the UK for eight-nights this June, the band are excited for this special series of shows at one of London’s most celebrated venues.
LCD Soundsystem emerged from New York City in July 2002 with James Murphy’s first recording as LCD and third release on his DFA label, “Losing My Edge.” Keyboardist/vocalist Nancy Whang and drummer Pat Mahoney were recruited for live shows as the band released singles including “Movement” and “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House,” which would appear on its eponymous 2005 debut LP. The band went on to release three critically acclaimed albums ‘Sound Of Silver’, ‘This Is Happening’ and the #1-charting, ‘American Dream’, which featured the Best Dance Recording GRAMMY-winning “Tonite.”
Currently working on a new album, LCD Soundsystem released their latest single “x-ray eyes”, in November last year, marking their first new music since 2022’s “New Body Rhumba,” which was featured in Noah Baumbach’s film, ‘White Noise’.
With their signature fusion of dance-rock and electronic beats, LCD Soundsystem continue to push boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide.
