Herbert “G Herbo” Wright has endured deep personal losses while solidifying his place as one of Chicago’s most enduring rap voices. His 2022 double album, Survivor’s Remorse, was hailed by Rolling Stone as “a potent look into his rattled, conflicted psyche” and a celebration of his decade-long career. Following his 2023 mixtape, Strictly For My Fans 2, Herbo returns with Big Swerv, an album that sees him prioritizing fun, success, and his signature street anthems.
Despite facing intense adversity, Big Swerv finds Herbo at the top of his game, reconnecting with longtime collaborator Southside to channel the energy of 2018’s Swervo. “It’s Swervo 2.0,” says Herbo. “More mature, but still living fast and having fun.” The album features the Southside-produced “In The A” and “Trim”, both inspired by his deep ties to Atlanta, where he’s built strong bonds with rap royalty like 21 Savage, Future, and Young Thug.
A mentor and collaborator, Herbo brings rising stars like Rob49, Baby Drill, Drench, and Skilla Baby into the fold. The Chopsquad DJ-produced “Shoot” is poised to be his next street anthem, while Big Swerv also reunites him with Lil Durk, the late Juice WRLD, and Chief Keef, whose collaboration on “No Pics” captures their raw chemistry.
With a strong catalog, platinum hits, and an unwavering presence in hip-hop, Herbo sees Big Swerv as a statement piece. “Now I feel like this project keeps my foot on the gas the way I want to,” he says. As an artist who has turned pain into purpose, G Herbo continues to evolve—unshaken, unstoppable, and here to stay.
